about Dr. Ruth Cohen

I am a Psychiatrist and MD

I am a medically trained psychiatrist with over 50 years of experience. I graduated from New York University Medical School before serving as Chief Resident of Psychiatry at Montefiore Hospital, where I also completed a fellowship in Consultation Psychiatry.

I work with a wide variety of patients including those with co-existing psychiatric and medical conditions, orthopedic and rehabilitation needs, or chronic illnesses. I also enjoy working to address later-in-life issues of depression and loneliness with older clients.

In addition, I have presented on and written articles on psychotherapy, divorce, interpersonal relations, and many other topics. I am no stranger to speaking about important issues such as depression, anxiety, and patient privacy rights at legal forums and hospital conferences.
